The Daughter’s Version is a personal literary publication by Achom: a father’s daughter, a daughter of family and community, and a woman negotiating what she inherited with what she chooses.
The word Version matters. It signals perspective rather than authority. Other people may remember the same family, tradition or event differently. This space gives me room to say: this is how I experienced it; this is what I was told; this is what I now think about it.
What we keep. What we question. What we choose.
Some traditions deserve preservation. Some deserve reinterpretation. Some deserve interrogation. The writing makes room for all three—with humour when it helps, honesty when it matters, and affection that does not require silence.
This is literary rather than influencer-led; personal without becoming diary-like; culturally rooted without pretending to be an ethnography.
