A daughter is told she will leave her father's home, only to arrive at her husband's as somebody else's addition. Then come the titles, the surnames and the great marital rebranding. I had questions about all of it. Fortunately, my husband came with a plot twist.

Nine years after my father left, I am still having conversations with him; in the lessons he left behind, the name he called me, and the hope he placed in my hands before I knew I would have to carry it without him.
Letter 03 · September 24, 2026
My father left behind five children. According to the arithmetic of lineage, apparently only two counted. Then an uncle arrived with a solution to a problem I didn’t know we had: my dead father needed more children.
Letter 04 · September 10, 2026
My father was warned that educating his daughters was a poor investment because another man would eventually enjoy the fruits of his labour. Years later, I have a few questions about who exactly the harvest belongs to.
